5 Healthy Breakfasts You Can Take Or Make At Work

Everyone says breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It provides much-needed fuel to revive you after an 8-hour fast (a night full of sleep), helps you focus and gives you the energy to get through the first part of your day.

The problem is many people are so busy in the morning that they don't get a chance to eat.

If you have to be at work early, you may find yourself grabbing coffee and bagels or donuts to get through your morning. This may give you a temporary boost, but it won't sustain you, and if you are trying to lose weight, this kind of breakfast will definitely hold you back.

What Is A Quick, Healthy Breakfast I Can Take To Work?

If you have time in the morning to make a breakfast to take to work, great. Another good idea is to prepare something the night before. High protein foods are ideal. Here are some breakfast  ideas:

1. Greek Yogurt Parfait

Avoid the high-sugar grocery store or coffee shop versions and make your own. This is super easy: 3/4 cup of plain Greek yogurt, some berries (raspberries, blackberries and blueberries are good choices) and a few walnuts. Layer these in a cup and you are good to go! If you want a bit of sweetness or extra flavor, add honey or a bit of vanilla extract. Cinnamon is also another option for added flavor.

2. Bacon, Egg And Cheese Muffins

Here’s a new twist on the breakfast muffin that’s packed with protein. Par-boil bacon strips and arrange them around the sides of a muffin tin. Pour whisked eggs and cheese into the muffin cups and bake in the oven. Add spices and seasonings to your liking. You can also add chopped bell peppers, Jalapenos and more. These are great to make in advance and heat up at work.

3. Hard-Boiled Eggs And Fruit

This is an easy one for those who have to eat breakfast in a rush at their desk, or in increments.

4. Green Smoothie

Pre-package your favorite smoothie ingredients in freezer bags to make smoothie prep easier. Dump them in the blender, add your liquid, blend and go. Drink this on the way to work or at your desk.

5. Favorite Pre-Packaged Bars Or Snacks

Sometimes you truly don't have time for breakfast prep. On these occasions, grab your favorite protein bar, pre-made drink or other low-carb, high protein snack and go.
